In a riveting Obinna Show Live episode, Hon Kibagendi Antoney didn’t mince words: “Baba’s legacy taught me resilience – it’s the only way to survive Kenya’s political jungle.” The fiery MP’s revelations, laced with personal anecdotes painted a vivid portrait of loyalty, betrayal, and a nation at a crossroads.

It all began in 2004 at Maseno University, where a chance meeting with Raila Odinga. “Baba” ignited Antoney’s political fire. “Baba saw potential in this raw student and mentored me through the trenches,” Antoney shared, crediting Odinga’s guidance for steering his career. Fast-forward to 2010: As Antoney tied the knot, Baba’s inner circle – Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie and Isaac Mwaura – rallied support, a gesture that sealed lifelong allegiance.

The 2013 referendum era crystallized Antoney’s path. “Najib Balala coined ‘Orange Democratic Movement’ amid the chaos – a spark that still burns,” he recalled. Undeterred by setbacks, Antoney launched the Vibrant People’s Alliance (VPA) party and co-founded the Friends of Raila Odinga Forum. Denied nominations, the group pivoted to other parties, but Baba eyed big roles: Antoney for Youth Affairs, ally Rachid for Sports.

Turning the spotlight on President William Ruto, Antoney unleashed fury. “Affordable housing? That’s Ruto’s vanity project. Post-reelection, expect a crippling car tax.” He predicted electoral doom: Ruto’s 50%+1 threshold is a mirage, eroded by ethnic fractures, lost church sway, alienated hustlers, spurned professionals, and frayed international ties. “Sympathy’s his only card – and even that’s tainted by whispers of terrorism.”

Yet, Antoney touted wins: Under his watch, rural electrification soared from 51% to 76%. “A constituency thrives on an MP’s grit – not laziness in utilizing time and funds.” Health, though? A disaster. The Social Health Authority (SHA) promises benefits but botched a 60-year NHIF transition. “Apiero and Convergence – 2024 shells owned by Aden Duale and State House cronies – buried NHIF to hire friends. I own no hospital, chemist, or dispensary. Workers are demotivated; hospitals lack meds, fixated on bricks over care. Sack Duale, Mr. President – install a system that works!”
